What happens to my estate when I die?
What you set out in your last will and testament is what must be actioned after you pass away. If you pass away without a valid will in place, your estate will be distributed according to the Intestate Succession Act which may not reflect your wishes and might not be in the best interests of your heirs and beneficiaries. Passing away without a valid will means forfeiting the chance to have a say in how your assets are divided and who benefits from your estate. That is why drafting a valid will is so important.
