You ask it, we have it answered!
How long does it take to get the Letters of Executorship?
Even though it's called Letters of Executorship (plural), it is actually only one document. Usually, the office of the Master of the High Court takes up to six weeks to issue this document that appoints the executor of a deceased estate, provided the correct and relevant documentation has been submitted. However, we do our utmost to ensure that this gets done correctly the first time and to obtain the court appointment within seven days after lodging the application.
