You ask it, we have it answered!
Why is it important to have a will? What is the purpose of a will?
The principle of freedom of testation is one of the cornerstones of the law of succession in South Africa. It allows the person whose will it is (testator = male, testatrix = female) to distribute their assets as they wish. There are, however, laws that determine how a deceased estate is administered (distributed) when someone passes away without a will (intestate). With a valid will, you can decide and provide guidance on how your estate should be administered. That is why it is one of the most important documents you will ever draft.
One of our expert Testamentary Consultants can meet with you to provide guidance and draft a valid will at no cost.
